Bad news - cattive notizie

Ciao,

1 hour ago i found my male U.mili dead in his viv.It seems,that he dig under his hide and he get stuck.

2 years in the same viv,nothing happens,yesterday evening he was alright,the last time i looked was about 3.00h,everything fine.A friend came to shoot some pics and then i found him.

The female is ok and gravid again.

1 ora fa ho trovato il maschio di U.mili morto nel suo terrario. Sembra che abbia scavato sotto il suo nascondiglio e sia rimasto conficcato.

2 anni nello stesso terrario, non è successo nulla, ieri sera stava bene, l'ultima volta che ho guardato erano le 3.00h,tutto bene. Un amico è venuto a fare qualche foto e poi l'ho trovato.

La femmina è ok e ancora gravida.

I am so sorry Matthias.

But what can be happened for you? Where did you keep him? On the peat or on the sand? Maybe did he suffocate with anything?

What kind of hide did he have?

Usually is adviced to place wood or stones directly on the glass(bottom) instead of on top of the sand, so they can't be stuck when they dig under the hide...

Ciao Chiara and Jeroen,

its a hide of unglazed clay,so that its always humid under it.On top of the hide you can fill water.I press it in the sand,so that the geckos cant dig under it. I dont know,maybe the last time,when i put the clutch out,i made a mistake and dont press it in the sand.

The gecko dont suffocate,he was in good condition
